The A-Team isn't about intelligent scripts, it's not about plot twists, developing storylines, interesting locations or beautiful camera work. No, the A-Team is a pleasing blend of predictability, action, moral lessons and a huge amount of tongue in cheek humour. And every so often, the A-Team even provides food for thought....

Why is it that nobody ever get's killed or hurt? why does B.A. hate to fly so much, and how come Murdock (the "crazy" one) make the most sense?

A typical A-Team episode

A mindless thug (eg. Mr.Gains) terrorises a two-bit business run by an all-American innocent (eg. Joe) who's just trying to earn an honest wage. Joe can't understand why Gains wants his business, and can't go to the police because Gains knows people who knows the sheriff. Joe tracks down the A-Team but doesn't realise the hotdog salesman with the crummy New York accent is actually a thinly disguised Hannibal Smith, making sure Joe wasn't sent by Colonel Decker.

Joe hires the A-Team and they all head towards small-town USA (a crummy Universal backlots, no matter which country they're supposed to be in!) in their van, with tires screeching even when the van's on a dusty road going at 20 mph. They hang about inside Joe's "diner" until Gains shows up again with two truck loads of thugs in tow.

The thugs walk in and begin harrassing the clientelle, then Hannibal steps foward. With a smug grin on his face and a freshly lit cigar, Hannibal says "You must be the slug that needs to be stepped on", Gains takes a swing at Hannibal, but misses and accidentally hits B.A. Baracus.

Gains whinces in horror at the thought of the furious retribution that is to come. B.A. delivers a powerful right jab, then throws Gains and the rest of his mob through the front window of the diner.

With the initial show of strength behind them, the Team waits for Gains to run whimpering to his boss (eg. Crazy Tommy T", thus ensuring they return this time with shotguns. It goes without saying that none of these thugs have had any weapons training because in the ensuing fire fight, nobody hits anybody. However, the A-Team are all expert marksmen, because they manage to hit pursuing cars' tyres whilst hanging out the van's side window and shooting with one hand, looking the other way!

The A-Team invariably gets caught by a minor oversight in Hannibal's plan, which leads the gloating Tommy T to imprisoning the Team in an farmyard tool shed ("what could they possibly get up to in there?"). Hannibal wisecracks his way into the shed, and informs the Team of his plan for them to build a projectile weapon out of the farm materials and ever-present welder that just happened to be lying about.

Tommy T and his goons tell Hannibal that the A-Team has lost the war and will be dealt with shortly. At this point, the shed doors bursts open and an outrageous cabbage cannon begins shooting rotten cabages at the heavily armed thugs. None of the thugs get a moment to fire their guns, being hopelessly outmatched by the A-Team's enginuity and improvisation. Hopelessly outclassed, Tommy T gives up immeditately and lets himself get taken to the police.

The episode closes with Murdock tormenting B.A., who calls him a "crazy fool", then chases him to screen freeze and credits. >B.A., who calls him a "crazy fool", then chases him to screen freeze and credits.
