Friends are what I can't do without. These are the people who have affected the way I am and I'll never forget them.

- My best friend that I don't see much of, that's Clare. She can always bring a smile to my face, no matter what happens or how I feel. She always has her feet on the ground, and has managed to tear me back down to ground level over and over again when I needed it most! Clare has enourmous strength of character and limitless compassion as well as being smart and down to earth. Pretty cool eh?

- A passionate artist, Luanne devotes every waking moment to the development of her artistic self. I knew Luanne as a loving, sharing person who's devotion to love and kindness I haven't seen in anyone else. Luanne taught me the meaning of commitment and sacrifice in relationships, and showed me what it meant to love. She recently exhibited her artwork at Cubitt Gallery in King's Cross, London, congratulations!

- Dave appears to be introverted and sensitive when you first get to know him, but don't be fooled, inside is the sharpest, most unforgiving but not altogether unreasonable character. He also holds the record for the fastest pull I've ever seen. We walk into an Oxford nightclub and some girl walks over to me to ask my friend's name. Simple as that!

- Neil, along with Dave, happened to be born around the same time I was, and also happened to be placed right next door to each other at our Hall of Residence in year one at Oxford. Neil is incredibly easy going and whilst at Oxford, was all too keen to lend us use of his Amgia, so we could waste him in Sensible Soccer, or Linx! But true to form, Neil would simply retort that Amigas are better than PCs and Fords are better than VWs. (he had a Ford fiesta, I had a VW polo). Of course, he was wrong, but there's something charming about Neil's naievety :)

- My flat mate for the last year or so, and drinking buddy, Steve and I share admiration for bad films, in fact, tastelessness in any form features high on our repertoir of abuse and sarcastic admiration. Steve's the perfect flat mate - he's always up for sitting about shouting abuse at the telly, sharing a yarn about how crap most people are, or going out and getting drunk. He's an all seasons guy!

- Easy going, fun and affectionate - that's about how I'd describe Diana. I'm always happy to see her at the pub, as she manages to drink more than anyone else, as well as buying fewer drinks than anyone else. She holds this secret close to her though; try as I might, to this day I can't understand how on earth she does it!

- A good friend from the first night I met her, Marie shares a bit of my history (we went to the same summer camp together years and years ago), and is deceptively smart and witty. She also has radar-like hearing, so my wisecracks and smart comments never go un-answered when she's around. She has an incurable hunger for socialising, which I find one of her best qualities!

- Anna's like a Jekyll and Hide character swapping between a riotous drink-crazed wildthing and a laid-back, witty, charming conversationalist with exceptional ease! A startling evening at Starbucks let me know how I wish I'd have known Anna for a lot longer, because she's as sharp and sarcastically indulgent as anyone I know. Anna has the coolest watch I've ever seen - it's a yellow smiley face that is small enough to wear like a ring around your finger - I still haven't got used to her looking at her finger to tell the time...

- It's hard to sum Paulette up in a sentence or two, so I won't bother. I've only known her three years, but it seems like a lifetime. She taught me that no matter what, you should always tell the truth to people you respect and love. I'm a better person because of Paulette. She has a homepage here.

- Joe and I went to Pittwater House together and we could both see how sad the whole deal was. Joe laughs more than anyone else I know, and is very good natured. Some people are just easy to get on with, and Joe's one of those people.

- Nigel and Jutta have always been there for me, since I was born. They are extremely selfless, and are always ready to support and help out. Everyone needs friends like these, and I'm no exception!

1992-1996 Oxford Brookes (Oxford, England)

The four years I spent at University were amazing fun. I met great people, lived in disgraceful digs, did very little work, drank lots and slept with people I shouldn't have. What self respecting student could do more? I hold many fond memories, ranging from setting shopping trolleys on fire to playing boisterously loud games on my friend's Amiga after a night out. I couldn't ever go back to being a student, but I wouldn't change my student years for anything, Check out this great Course Photo!

1988-1992 Bradfield College (Reading, Berkshire, England)

I had a really excellent time at Bradfield, despite not doing that well at work, my last two years were filled with everything but studying. The Close was my home for those four years, and I got to know my comrades-in-captivity rather well. Again, I love hearing from the people I was at Bradfield with, these are they (these are from memory): If you're name's not down, email me, 'cos I need reminding! Here's an awesome house photo of the Close (1992)!

1986-1988 Pittwater House (Collaroy, Sydney, Australia)

My fondest memories of Pittwater are these. Handball games that stretched across the whole school playground and road; meatpies from the kitchen for lunch; pompous school flag ceremonies, with the school song and that damn irritating Cadet band song. Who could forget Bruce Porter, our unstoppable maths teacher, or Rex Morgan, the mythical school figurehead whom we got to visit (!)in person (!) once a year. I love hearing from the guys I went to school there, you know who you are (here's a group photo - thanks Joe!), but in case you forgot, here are some reminders (this is all from memory so sorry if I get the spelling wrong):

1981-1986 Feltonfleet School (Cobham, Surrey, England)

Almost too long ago to remember! Some things will never leave my memory though. Those include playing football on "Calvy" in bleak winter afternoons where the sun was low and a mist hung in the air. The ground was hard and the air was biting. Constantly talking after lights out in my dormitory got my friends in trouble plenty of times. Breaking the school's first VCR got me into lots of trouble, as did most of what I got up to there. This is really taxing my memory, but here's who I can remember from way back then:
